Where is the church of Pescia Romana?

The parish church of Pescia Romana is located on the Piazza delle Mimose, in the Borgo Nuovo area, in Montalto di Castro. It is dedicated to San Giuseppe Operaio. To find it on your GPS, search for “San Giuseppe Operaio, Pescia Romana” or its square: the address is more useful than the hamlet's name alone.

A little geographical note: Pescia Romana is in the province of Viterbo, in Lazio, just south of the Tuscan border. It is often associated with the Maremma, but it is not administratively Tuscany. There is also a small church associated with the Borgo Vecchio, sometimes called Sant’Ignazio ; if that is the one you are looking for, the landmark is therefore not the Piazza delle Mimose. For a visit, check the opening times before setting out: a parish church may be closed outside services.

Border villages often have a little treasure-hunt feel: here, the names of the districts are almost as useful as the names of the places.
