To avoid paying a platform's price, find the agriturismo online then book directly with the establishment, after comparing the total price and the conditions. The commission is generally charged to the accommodation, not automatically added as a separate line to your booking: booking direct therefore does not guarantee a saving.

Look for it official website of the agriturismo or call it using the number found on a reliable source, rather than relying solely on the contact details received in a message. Ask for a written rate for the same dates, the same room type and the same amenities: breakfast, taxes, any fees and cancellation conditions. A cheaper booking may be less flexible; in Italy, do not assume you can cancel for free.

If you have already booked via a platform, do not cancel it before obtaining a clear direct confirmation and checking any cancellation fees. For a direct payment, choose a traceable method and check that the beneficiary's name matches the establishment. If the rate is the same, or if direct booking requires a large non-refundable transfer, the platform may be worth the cost for its payment terms or assistance.
