How to access the Etruscan necropolis of Monterozzi in Tarquinia?

The simplest way is to go to the Monterozzi necropolis by car : from the center of Tarquinia, follow the "Necropoli" signs or enter "Necropoli dei Monterozzi" in your GPS, on the Strada Provinciale Monterozzi Marina. From the train station, allow about 3 km ; a taxi avoids a walk of about 40 minutes. Regional buses also serve the area, with a stop nearby, but the schedules can be inconvenient: check the times on the day itself rather than relying on them for the return trip.

The entrance open to visitors is located in the Calvariosector. Booking is normally not necessary. The combined ticket with the museum of Tarquinia costs 13 € at full price; it is valid until 30 jours. The necropolis is closed on Mondays. Until October 12, 2026, the announced hours are from 9 h à 19 h 30 ; du October 13 to 24, it closes at 18 h 30, with last entry one hour before closing.
