Since the Maremma, the simplest way is to go to Vulci by car : allow about 30 minutes from Manciano (approximately 26 km) and 1 h 20 from Grosseto (about 85 km). The park is located in the Latium, near the Tuscan border. From the coast, take the SS1 Aurelia, exit at Montalto di Castro, then follow the signs towards Vulci and the provincial roads to the park parking lot. If you are coming from further away in Tuscany, plan a good part of the day for the round trip; from Florence, the journey generally exceeds two hours each way depending on traffic.
Without a car, you can take the train to the station of Montalto di Castro, on the Rome–Pisa line, then continue by taxi. Note: the station is away from the park and there is no regular connection you can rely on for the last stretch. A shuttle may be available on request, but confirm its availability with the park before planning your itinerary; otherwise, book a taxi in advance. Also check the opening hours on the day of your visit, which vary by season. At Vulci, the sites are spread over a vast area: bring suitable shoes and time for walking.
