Our tip

Renting a sailboat in Maremma means sailing one of the most varied stretches of water in Tuscany: the Argentario and its two ports (Porto Ercole, Porto Santo Stefano), the islands of Giglio and Giannutri two hours away by sea, the Gulf of Talamone and the wild coast of the Maremma park. The afternoon thermal winds make the area ideal for a day trip as well as a week of coastal sailing toward the island of Elba.

Most of the sailboats offered here are rented with a skipper, so no license or experience is required: the skipper knows the sheltered anchorages (Cala Grande, Cala del Gesso, la Feniglia) and adapts the route to the day's weather. "Bareboat" sailboats require an offshore license and, generally, a sailing resume.
