Comment on noteThe wine
Today I invite you to a discovery that is particularly close to my heart: the Rosso Costa Toscana IGT from Tenuta Le Colonne. This wine is an authentic expression of Tuscan organic viticulture, a true tribute to its terroir and the purity of its methods.
This red wine was born on the Costa Toscana, a region where the Tenuta Le Colonne estate passionately commits itself to organic farming methods. This environmentally friendly approach guarantees the integrity of the terroir and the purity of the grapes. The 2021 vintage is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 10% Syrah, grape varieties that flourish fully under the Tuscan sun. Vinification takes place in steel tanks, with skin maceration, followed by a few months of aging, either in steel or in wood, to refine its aromas.
From the very first glance, it reveals itself in an intense and deep ruby color. On the nose, it unfolds a rich and complex bouquet: I perceive notes of ripe red fruits mingled with accents of dark spices, all enhanced by a light touch of vanilla. On the palate, this wine is robust and well-structured. The tannins are supple yet present, providing balance and a fine texture that promise great aging potential. The acidic freshness is harmoniously counterbalanced by the alcohol, resulting in a long and very pleasant finish. In retro-olfaction, the spices reappear, accompanied by a slight woody aftertaste, testifying to well-controlled aging.
To fully appreciate all its organoleptic qualities, I recommend serving it at a temperature of 18°C. This Rosso Costa Toscana IGT is the ideal companion for robust dishes: think of meat arrosti, game, or aged cheeses. Its organic nature ensures that every sip is a faithful representation of its territory of origin. It is a wine that, beyond gustatory pleasure, will bring you the pure essence of the Costa Toscana directly to your table.
