Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine yourself on the winding roads of Bolgheri, the sun caressing the vines. It is there, in the heart of this prestigious appellation, that I discovered a wine that embodies elegance and respect for nature: the Bolgheri Superiore DOC from Tenuta Le Colonne.
Tenuta Le Colonne is an estate fully committed to organic farming, an approach I particularly appreciate. Their vines thrive on this unique Bolgheri terroir, renowned for its characterful wines. This Bolgheri Superiore 2019 is the result of a rigorous selection of noble grape varieties: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc, grown with particular attention to natural balance.
The vinification of this wine begins with fermentation in steel tanks, preserving the purity of the fruit. This is followed by aging in wood, for a minimum of 24 months, which gives it remarkable structure and complexity. To the eye, you will be charmed by its deep ruby red color. On the nose, it unfolds a rich and persistent bouquet, where ripe red fruits blend harmoniously with spicy, balsamic notes and a delicate touch of vanilla. On the palate, I found it powerful and balanced, with beautiful harmony between the acidity and elegant tannins, which extend the aromatic pleasure.
This Bolgheri Superiore is an ideal companion for characterful dishes. I highly recommend it with roasted red meats, game or aged cheeses. Imagine it on a friendly table, sharing an exceptional moment. It is also a wine that lends itself wonderfully to late-evening conversations, offering its complexity and depth with every sip. Its aging capacity is notable; you can keep it for a few years in the cellar and watch it gain even more expressiveness.
