Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine for a moment the softness of a Tuscan late afternoon, a glass in hand. This rosé is an invitation to that lightness, a promise of freshness and conviviality, a true ray of sunshine in a bottle.
Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, near the charming town of Cortona, the Santa Cristina estate signs this Toscana IGT. It is in this region, cradled by a Mediterranean climate, that the Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grape varieties flourish to give birth to this wine. Santa Cristina, a house whose history is rooted in the Tuscan winegrowing tradition, perpetuates here a know-how that combines respect for the terroir and modernity.
At first glance, you will be charmed by its pale and delicate pink color, a hue that evokes lightness. On the nose, I perceive fine, fruity aromas: notes of pink grapefruit, small wild strawberries and ripe apple, enhanced by a floral touch of dog rose. On the palate, this rosé reveals itself lively and refreshing. Its light body and balanced acidity make it particularly pleasant and easy to drink. The vinification, with a gentle pressing, a short maceration and fermentation in steel tanks, preserves all its freshness and fruity aromas, while its aging in steel tanks gives it that liveliness I appreciate so much.
This rosé is an ideal companion for a multitude of dishes. I see it perfectly accompanying varied antipasti, crunchy summer salads, or light fish. It also pairs very well with white meats and, surprisingly, with a good homemade pizza. Serve it chilled, between 8 and 10 °C, to fully appreciate its liveliness. It is the perfect wine for those informal moments, an aperitif with friends or an outdoor lunch, where simplicity rhymes with pleasure.
