Comment on noteThe wine
Today I invite you to discover a wine that embodies the generosity and finesse of Tuscany: the Centocamini Rosso IGT from the Artimino estate. Imagine for a moment strolling through the heart of this region, and finding in your glass all the richness of its landscapes and its ancestral know-how. This wine is a true open door to Tuscan authenticity.
Nestled between Carmignano and Capraia e Limite, the Artimino estate stretches across lands where history and viticulture have coexisted for centuries. It is here that the Centocamini takes root, made from a blend of Sangiovese and other native Tuscan grape varieties. These vines, bathed in the Mediterranean sun, produce grapes of remarkable quality, reflecting a unique terroir and an ideal climate for the expression of the fruit.
Its color, an intense and limpid ruby, is a first promise. On the nose, I perceive frank aromas of ripe red fruits, with a dominant note of cherry and a delicate touch of violet. A light spicy sensation and discreet earthy notes complete this bouquet, offering an immediate and engaging aromatic reading. On the palate, the Centocamini reveals itself balanced, with a beautiful freshness that supports a harmonious structure. The tannins are pleasant and supple, and the wine offers a sapid progression that coats the palate without aggressiveness, leaving a measured and very pleasing persistence. The vinification takes place in steel tanks at 22°C, with a maceration of 14 to 16 days. It is then aged in steel for several months, then two months on lees and finally three months in bottle, which gives it its complexity and elegance.
This wine is an ideal companion for many moments of sharing. I recommend it with cured meats and semi-aged cheeses, where its freshness and tannins will balance the flavors. It also pairs perfectly with generous primi piatti, such as pasta with ragù, or grilled meats. Feel free to serve it with gratinéed vegetables or even dishes based on mushrooms. Its versatility makes it a top choice for everyday Mediterranean cuisine. Serve it between 16 and 18°C in a generous glass so that it reveals all its nuances. A short decanting may even be considered to anticipate the opening of its aromas. It is a wine of pleasure, of "pronta beva", that will invite you to conviviality and the discovery of the authentic flavors of Tuscany.
