Imagine a winding road, lined with cypresses, leading you to the heart of a more secret Tuscany, that of the Maremma. It is there, nestled between gentle hills and vineyards as far as the eye can see, that I discovered a place where time seems to stand still. Get ready for an authentic immersion, far off the beaten track.
Terranera: A Refuge in the Heart of the Scansano Hills
On arriving at the Agriturismo Terranera, near Scansano, I was immediately charmed by the harmony emanating from this estate. The architecture, typical of the region, blends perfectly into the landscape. The stone buildings, with tiles weathered by the sun, tell a story — that of a preserved and elegant rural life. You immediately feel enveloped by the serenity of the place, with the feeling of being both at home and travelling.
The estate offers an idyllic setting in which to recharge. I loved the breathtaking view of the surrounding hills, a living picture that changes with the hours. Of course, the free parking is a considerable asset for exploring the region in complete freedom. Even though I did not have the chance to explore everything, I know that some establishments of this kind offer a generous table, showcasing local products. It is a promise of authentic flavours, a true culinary journey.
