The village of Magliano in Toscana is located in the Maremma, south of Tuscany, in the province of Grosseto, in Italy. It sits on a hill, inland: so it is not a seaside resort, even though the municipality's territory extends to the sea.
To get your bearings, Magliano is located about 28 km from Grosseto and at some 24 km from Orbetello by road. It is also close to Scansano, in a countryside of hills, vineyards and olive groves. The name can be confusing: here, we are indeed talking about Magliano in Toscana, and not another village called Magliano elsewhere in Italy.
In practice, a car is the easiest way to reach the village and explore the surroundings; public transport connections can be less convenient for visiting several places in the same day. If you are planning a coastal itinerary, remember to distinguish the hilltop village from the beaches: you have to get back on the road to reach them.
