What to do at Maremma Park?

At Maremma Park, you can walk through the Mediterranean scrub, observe the animals, reach wild beaches or explore part of the park by bike. Since Alberese, the wildlife trail A6 done 2.2 km and lends itself well to a quiet outing; set off early or at the end of the day, staying quiet if you hope to see fallow deer. For a longer walk, the route A7, towards the mouth of the Ombrone, takes 5.6 km. Access to the trails is generally paid: expect about 5 to 10 € per adult, depending on the route. Opening hours and open trails vary by season; the park indicates opening from 8:30 a.m., until one hour before sunset.

For the sea, head to Marina di Alberese or the beach of Collelungo. The A10 trail to Collelungo stretches over 11.2 km : it is not a short stroll, especially under the summer sun, so take water and check access conditions before setting off. You can also explore some areas by bike, go on a horseback ride or book a canoe excursion. The park is more pleasant for walking in spring and autumn; in summer, the heat and seasonal restrictions can limit your options. To prepare your day, stop by the Alberese visitor center and check which trails are open on the day itself.

The real luxury here is not wanting to check everything off: leave room for breaks and detours, the park reveals itself best at this pace.
