To buy clothing at a market in Tuscany, first look at the market of the Cascine in Florenceheld in the park every Tuesday, generally from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.. You'll find clothes and shoes there, along with second-hand or vintage items, but the stalls and finds vary from one week to the next. In Luccathe weekly market of Piazzale Don Baroni takes place on Wednesday and Saturday morning, generally from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.with clothing stalls among other goods.
If you're on the coast, the market of Forte dei Marmion Piazza Marconi, takes place on Wednesday, usually from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.and also on certain Sundays in summer. It is known for its fashion items, but prices and quality differ from vendor to vendor: check the material and finishing carefully before buying. In smaller towns too, the weekly market often hosts a few clothing stalls; ask the tourist office for the exact day and location, as schedules can change on public holidays or during events. To have the most choice, try to arrive in the morning; don't necessarily expect to find a full range of sizes or styles as in a store.
