To get to the island of Giglio, take a ferry from Porto Santo Stefano, on Monte Argentario, to Giglio Porto. The crossing takes about 1 hour. The Toremar and Maregiglio companies operate services all year round, with more departures in summer; check the times for your date, as they change according to the season and the day.
You can reach Porto Santo Stefano by car via theSS1 Via Aurelia, or by train toOrbetello-Monte Argentariostation, then continue to the port by bus or taxi. As an indication, at Maregiglio in 2026, the adult ticket costs about 14.50 to €16 one way, excluding the landing fee; a car under 4.5 m costs about 48 to €56 per trip. Fares vary according to the season and the company.
You can board with a car, but in August, non-residents are subject to a restriction: boarding is reserved, according to the published rules, for people staying on the island for at least 4 nights and 5 days. During busy periods, book in advance, especially if you are taking a vehicle. For a day trip, also check that the return times leave you enough time on the island.
