What are the prices for guided activities in the Maremma?

Generally count on 10 to 40 € per person for a classic guided activity in the Maremma; private outings, horseback rides and packages with meals can cost more. In the Maremma Park, summer guided hikes are listed at 2026 cost 15 € at full price, or 10 € at the reduced rate, for routes that can last 6 to 8 hours. A shorter night outing, of about 3 hours, is at 10 € (reduced rate: 5 €). From June 15 to September 13, several trails require a guide; check the calendar and book before setting off.

For wine, plan on around 20 € for a simple tasting, and about 35 to 40 € for a cellar visit with tasting and local products. A carriage ride in the park is offered from 30 €. Prices depend on the provider, the season and what is included; the "from" price is not necessarily the one for all dates.

For the kayak or a horseback ride, prices vary according to duration and equipment provided, so it is best to ask for an exact price when booking. Also remember to check whether park entrance, transport to the starting point and a possible tasting are included: these extras can significantly change the final budget.

My opinion: in the Maremma, a guide is mainly worth it for the hidden spots and stories you won't find on your own; rather save the fun budget for the meal afterwards.
