How much does a day of grape harvesting cost in Tuscany?

Account around €70 to €250 per person for a harvest organized in Tuscany, depending on whether you join a group day or book a private package with meal and guidance. As an example, a visit with participation in the harvest, cellar tour and lunch was listed at €68 per adult in 2026; a five-hour private experience with lunch comes to about €240 per person for two participants.

Check carefully what the price includes: some offers last only half a day, and a tourist "harvest" does not necessarily mean spending the whole day picking grapes. The harvest generally takes place between late August and mid-October, but the dates change depending on the estate, the grape varieties and the weather; so picking may not be offered on the day of your visit. In Maremma as elsewhere, ask whether the meal, the tasting and the transport are included before booking. Plan on closed shoes and clothes that don't mind stains. If you meant a real seasonal job as a grape picker, that's different: you don't pay for an experience, you apply for paid work.

A harvest is also a lovely way to understand the landscape otherwise than by looking at it from the road: the rows tell their little story. If you want to keep a more vivid memory than a simple tasting, choose a package where you really take part.
