Borgo S.Maria Di Vulci: A haven of peace in Maremma

Borgo S.Maria Di Vulci is a family-run agritourism establishment located in Montalto di Castro, in the Maremma region. Initially created in January 2005 with three mini-apartments, it has grown to become a «little village» made up of 16 apartments of different capacities (1, 2, 4 or 6 places). These accommodations are equipped with television, air conditioning, autonomous gas and an outdoor veranda. The larger apartments also have a washing machine. One apartment has been designed to be accessible to people with reduced mobility.

The establishment is also a farm that produces asparagus, certified melons, watermelons, courgettes and peppers, grown in greenhouses and in open fields. The richness in potassium salts of the region's volcanic soils gives these products a particular flavor, which guests can taste on site. An adjoining restaurant, «Il Piccolo Borgo», offers specialties of traditional local Maremma cuisine. A large garden with olive trees and Mediterranean scrubland offers a relaxation area and children's games. An outdoor swimming pool is also available for residents.
